The South West Rocks Chamber of Commerce welcomes new business ventures into the community and is currently promoting a “Pop-Up Shop” Concept to increase the retail mix in the town, initially for the peak holiday seasons.

There are a limited number of vacant retail premises in the central shopping districts ready for entrepreneurial individuals to fill a market gap, or create a specialist niche on a temporary or permanent basis.

Local real estate agents support the “Pop-Up” concept, which in the past has featured artworks and speciality Christmas gifts and wrapping services.

The chamber view the Pop-Up concept as a great way for potential long term lessees to test the market, while adding a broader choice of shopping options into the peak seasons.

Ideally those short term tenants could evolve into permanent retailers that enhance the retail market mix of the town.

The Pop-Up concept is not open to food and beverage retailers.

Some recognised market gaps are whitegoods, homewares and hardware.
